This year marks a significant milestone for Lyla Lash as we celebrate our 9th anniversary! It feels surreal to think back to 2016 when I opened our first small studio in Lan Kwai Fong. I’m Leona, the founder, and I’d love to share a bit of our journey with you.
When I started Lyla Lash, it was just a dream fueled by a passion for beauty and a desire to create a welcoming space. I remember the excitement of setting up the studio, but I also had my fair share of doubts. Would people embrace our vision? Would we make it?
The road hasn’t always been easy. In 2019, I witnessed the protests that shook our beloved city. I can still vividly recall the tear gas outside our salon—a moment that brought fear but also a sense of community. We rallied together, supporting one another and our clients, proving that beauty can thrive even in challenging times.
Then came COVID-19. The uncertainty was daunting, but we adapted. I learned so much about resilience and the importance of connection during that period. We made it through, and I’m proud of our team’s unwavering spirit.
One of the most beautiful parts of this journey has been the incredible women I’ve met. From clients who became friends to fellow entrepreneurs who inspired me, each connection has enriched my life. I cherish the friendships formed through shared experiences and mutual support. You’ve all made this journey worthwhile.
As we celebrate this anniversary, my heart is full of gratitude. Thank you to everyone who has been part of Lyla Lash’s story—your support means the world to me. Here’s to many more years of beauty, friendship, and shared dreams.
